Tug Hill Commission Honors Past Commissioner Ken Vigus at Annual Meeting-11/8/2017

Approximately 90 people gathered at the Boonville VFW Post #5538 on Thursday, November 2, for the Tug Hill Commissionís annual dinner. Highlights of the evening were a tribute to former commissioner, the late Kenneth "Ken" W. Vigus; the presentation of the Renee Beyer Stewardship Award to the Tug Hill Commission by the Lewis County Soil & Water Conservation District; a preview of a new book about Tug Hill by Nora and Tony Machia; and a review of the Commissionís activities and accomplishments in 2017. Past Commissioner Vigus passed away earlier this year, and Commission chairman Jan Bogdanowicz and Commission secretary Tom Boxberger presented his widow, Rhonda Vigus, with a framed, original painting by Loretta Lepkowski, of Ken Vigusí Tug Hill hunting camp, the Horse Shoe Hunting Club. Tom and Ken had formed a special bond over the last few years of Kenís life, as they both were being treated for serious illnesses.
