ACS Boys Cross-Country Team Wins CSC Division I Title-10/25/2017

The Adirondack Central School (ACS) boys’ cross-country team earned another Center State Conference divisional championship last Saturday, October 21, at Westmoreland High School. The boys knew they needed to run exceptionally well to beat a very good and veteran Clinton team. Clinton, which has six seniors among its top seven runners, came into the league championship in first place in Division I by way of going undefeated within the division. Adirondack’s only losses during the regular season were to Clinton and to overall conference champion and state-ranked Sauquoit Valley. Coach Ryan Jennings knew that his boys could beat Clinton, with a great race, but he didn’t know if his young Wildcats would be up to the task. Coach Jennings said the focus for the past two weeks had been preparing to run well at the conference championship and beating Clinton. “The boys proved that they were up for the challenge, as most team members turned in season’s best or personal best times,” Jennings said. “Every runner’s performance played a huge role in the victory. This is the 5th time in the last six seasons that the Adirondack boys have been the CSC Division I champions.” For more on this story, please pick up a copy of the Boonville Herald.
