“American Pickers” Browsing in Highmarket/Constableville-9/27/2017

It doesn’t matter who you mention it to – the “American Pickers” show on the History Channel – everyone seems to have heard about it, and have watched the show a few times, or a lot. The big news is that on Saturday, September 16, Frank Fritz and Mike Wolfe from the show were seen by a few, either in Highmarket looking for Morczek’s old barn, or taking a photo of the Highmarket church, or down in Constableville at Harry Spoors Antiques shop. They were seen going to Constable Hall, but were disappointed – it was the first day the Hall was closed. When Jean Leiber, director of Constable Hall, heard the "Pickers" were there, she was dismayed at having missed them, as she also watches the show. For those who don’t know, the show follows antique and collectible "pickers," Wolfe and Fritz, who travel the United States to buy or “pick” various items for resale, for clients, or for their own personal collections. They travel in a Ford transit. For more on this story, please pick up a copy of the Boonville Herald.
