LOCUST GROVE - Bruce A. Weiler, 63, of State Route 12D, passed away suddenly at his residence on Sunday, March 5, 2017. He was born in Constableville on April 30, 1953, a son of the late Robert W. and Betty Dean Weiler. Bruce grew up in Locust Grove and received his education in Port Leyden and Lyons Falls schools, graduating from South Lewis Senior High School with the Class of 1972. Later he furthered his education by attending a trade school. From 1972 until his honorable discharge in 1975, Mr. Weiler served his country in the U.S. Marine Corps, stationed in the United States, Philippines and in Okinawa. Later he was employed as a paper maker for 16 years at Georgia Pacific Paper Co., Lyons Falls. More recently Bruce was employed in computer work in Buffalo and North Carolina. He was a member of St. Martinís Church, Port Leyden. While in high school, he enjoyed participating on the football and wrestling teams. Later, Bruce enjoyed working on automobile engines and helping his son with home improvements. He also enjoyed the outdoors. Bruce is survived by one son and daughter in law, Adrian N. (Amy) Weiler, and their children, Robert, Mia, Emma and Olivia, all of Boonville; one sister and brother-in-law, Katrina (Larry) Beltowski, Locust Grove, and two nephews, David and Kevin. He was predeceased by his mother in 1992 and by his father in 2013. A prayer service was held on Saturday, March 11, 2017, at 9 a.m. at Trainor Funeral Home, Inc., 143 Schuyler Street, Boonville, and at 10 a.m. at St. Martinís Church, Port Leyden, where Reverend Lawrence Marullo, pastor, celebrated a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will be in Locust Grove Cemetery, Town of Leyden. Calling hours were Friday from 4-8 p.m. at Trainor Funeral Home, Inc., 143 Schuyler Street, Boonville.
